About The Studio
The studio and press employ three presses, a Vandercook SP-15, an Albion handpress dated 1909, and a small tabletop clamshell press. The studio has a sizeable collection of metal type with many from the 1930s era. We even have Hebrew type in both metal and wood. The studio boasts a wonderful collection of border and row ornaments, dingbats and various engravings including an extensive collection of Christmas ornaments. We are always eager to incorporate these ornamental pieces in our design work.
I enjoy collaboration; I welcome working with a client to hit that right note for their project. There are no stock designs at The Garlow Studio, just the ideas and tools to make good design. As Shulamis Press, I enjoy working with authors and artists with an original voice. For more information on the design process, see the link to “How It Works”.
